(1848-1915) Organist. Pupil of Niels W. Gade and J. P. E. Hartmann. Co-founder and vice-conductor of The Concert Society (1874). From 1878 he was organist at various churches in Copenhagen, from 1900 at the Cathedral. From 1885 connected with the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, 1889 professor, 1899 director. Member of the board of Edition SAMFUNDET. - Wrote the first Danish text book on orchestration. - Works: Orchestral music, chamber music, organ and piano compositions, choral works, and songs. Lynge..
